CHALLENGING BILL 96

A crucial action to uphold the Rule of Law

On behalf of the Town of Hampstead and the Town of Mount Royal, GBM filed a procedure disputing Bill 96 with the Superior Court of Quebec on September 20, 2023.

The procedure aims to clarify the effects of specific provisions of the Act on the bilingual status of the plaintiffs, and to have the amendment process invoked by the National Assembly declared unconstitutional.

The importance of respecting the Rule of Law transcends the question of language, culture, and religion. Exercising public power according to established fundamental principles inevitably benefits all Quebec citizens.
