Hugo De Koulen is a member of the litigation team at Gattuso Bouchard Mazzone. He graduated from the École des Hautes Études Commerciales in 2001 as well as from the Université de Montréal‘s Faculty of Law in 2006. He articled for a judge of the Superior Court of Quebec and worked as a legal assistant in corporate and mining law until his admission to the Quebec Bar School.

Since his admission to the profession in 2008, he has practiced mainly in civil and commercial litigation. From the beginning, he was able to benefit from the experience of some of the most renowned litigators in their field, before launching his own boutique litigation firm.

In the course of his practice, Me De Koulen has handled litigation in virtually every area of law, including estate, protective regimes, class actions, real estate leasing law, corporate law and university law. His pragmatic, even mathematical, approach is focused on service excellence and a deep respect for the administration of justice.

Me De Koulen has had the opportunity to refine his knowledge of North American common law and the law of new information technologies through successive returns to graduate studies at his alma mater. Socially involved in access to justice, Mr. De Koulen is also an infantry officer in the Canadian Army Reserve.
