Passed under a gag order on June 16, 2019, the Loi sur laïcité de l’État prohibits the wearing of religious symbols by state employees, including teachers. This law has been vehemently challenged and is currently being debated before the Quebec Court of Appeal. In the course of this litigation, Me Frédéric Bérard assisted by Me Camille Savard, represents the Fédération autonome de l’enseignement.
